With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Community outreach is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. The Caucus of African American Leaders successfully lobbied the Annapolis City Council to require body cameras for its police officers.

Freedom of Press Memorial

With the devastating and historic events that occurred in Annapolis, MD on June 28, 2018, resulting in five media personnel losing their lives, the Caucus of African American Leaders of Anne Arundel County are proposing to build a "Freedom of Press" memorial to be built in Maryland's Capital City. The Caucus of African American Leaders is spearheading a capital fundraising drive to build this memorial in 2019.
