In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, the Caucus of African American Leaders (CAAL) is planning a two-day event Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27.

Schedule of Events:

Saturday, August 26

The March Reenactment begins at 10:00am at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium and will travel to the Annapolis City Dock.

The Youth Program will take place at 10:00am at City Dock in Downtown Annapolis.

A mural presentation will also take place at 10:00am at the Banneker Douglass Museum.

12:00 - 4:00pm
Just as there was in 1963, following the reenactment there will be a formal program, including video presentations of original participants, youth essay contest winners reciting their award-winning essays, a tribute to Negro Women Freedom Fighters, speeches, and a keynote address.

​Sunday, August 27

Morning

Activation Sunday - Maryland Pastors are asked to dedicate their morning services to the reflection of the 1963 March on Washington call to action.

3:00 - 5:00pm
A culminating worship service will be held at the Fresh Start Church, 120 N. Langley Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland. This worship service is FREE. We invite you to come as early as 1:00PM to see the youth art gallery, obtain information from area health resource vendors, and grab a bite from local food trucks!
